Speedball makes a kit, but it is only good for getting your feet wet. I used mine for one job and threw it all away. You will learn very quickly what all it takes to print T-Shirts.
It is a great business to get into, but don't let your artistic desires overwhelm your business sense.
I recommend you visit with various screen printing suppliers. You can find used equipment, like a single color press, spot dryer and a simple exposure unit that some small shop has outgrown and build from there.
By the way, I started my business saying the exact same thing you stated in your question. I sold a car I had to get started and everything worked out OK. I am an artist first, business man second.

I Was Wondering How You Would Print A Pattern Over The Entire T-Shirt (For Sale Purposes)
You can draw a pattern, then print it onto an iron-on transfer sheet. Then set the sheet on the shirt and iron it on.. And just do it all over the shirt.
What Lasts Longer, A Dtg Printed Shirt, Or A Screen Printed Shirt?
Im Trying To Start My Own Clothing Business, And Want To Figure Out What Kind Of Tshirt Printing Will Give Me The Best And Most Durable Print. Thanks
That is a very long winded and opinionated answer I'll try and give you the short answer. Dtg is a very new process and still being upgraded all the time it uses water based ink so it has a much softer feel to it also takes up a lot less room in your house or shop it does have a steep learning curve to it but once you have down dtg you can do one off shirts a lot faster.
Screen printing has been around forever and is the workhorse of the printing industry. With all of the videos out there it is fairly simple to print a easy design but not very time friendly if you are only doing a few shirts. Even though you can use water base inks most do not so the print has a heavy hand to it.
If done properly both prints will last a long time maybe equally as long if just starting your company you may want to outsource your printing for a while and not do it yourself? Also what kind of clothing line are you coming out with the feel of the print and the garments to be printed on may make a difference also. hope this helps!!
Silk Screen Print Machine Vs Heat Press Machine? Which Is Better?
What Are The Pros And Cons Of Screen Printing And Heat Pressing T Shirts?
Thinking About Getting A Heat Press Thought I Was Going To Get The Screen Printing Machine First. I'M Thinking No Paint= No Mess. I'M On A Budget And Found One That Is Fair Price. What Would I Have Maintain More? Screen Print Machine Or Heat Press? Dont Want To Spend More In The Long Run.
I Really Would Like Someone'S Opinion And Details That Is Experienced In This Field.
It really depends what you plan on doing with it.
If you want to do a high volume of printing, that lasts longer, I would suggest a screen printing set up. Heat press transfers don't usually hold up to washing and such as often.
However, if you want to do even shirts, then a heat press machine might be the way to go. With one of these you can bring unprinted shirts and the pre-printed transfers to the event and simply press them as needed. That way you won't have shirts that are of no use to you later. You can just put the blank shirts back into your stock.
